Our flagship service
The AI Opportunities Survey
A day on site, a written report the next morning, and a clear, costed view of where AI fits your business.
Why a survey
The first step, done properly.
Most firms we speak to are curious about AI and stuck at the first step. Every provider they have met wants them to buy a licence, book a course, or commit to a large strategy project before anything has actually been done.
The Survey is the opposite. It has a fixed scope, takes a single day on site, and produces a written report that is specific to your business, with honest prices against each recommendation so you can decide what is worth taking further. Every report is written from scratch.
What happens
From first call to finished report.
Before the day, about an hour
A short call and a questionnaire
A thirty-minute call and a short questionnaire covering team size, current tools, and the operational frustrations that keep coming up. We arrive already understanding the basics.
On the day, about six hours
Five parts, on site
- Leadership first (about an hour)
- What you are trying to achieve, how the business makes its money, and where the pressure points are.
- Then the team (two to three hours)
- Three to five people across different functions walk us through what they actually do and what gets in the way. With permission, interviews are transcribed so the conversation has our full attention.
- Then your tools (about an hour)
- A full audit rather than a sample, usually with whoever looks after IT: email and calendar, CRM, bookkeeping, file storage, hardware and telephony, and which of them are properly used.
- Then time to think
- An hour or more to draw out the patterns and sketch priorities, checking anything unclear with you as we go.
- Then initial findings
- Before we leave, you hear where we have landed and can challenge it before anything is written up.
The next day
A written report, by email
Typically ten to twenty pages, depending on how complex the organisation is.
Afterwards
A follow-up call and thirty days of support
A call within a few days to talk through the report, then thirty days of email support on anything in it, answered within one working day. Both are included.
The report
What you receive.
The report covers
- Background on your organisation and how it makes money
- Current use of AI and the wider set of tools you run
- An assessment of how ready and willing the team is
- A prioritised set of recommendations
- The solutions available, with indicative pricing
- Concrete next steps
Each recommendation sets out
- What it is, in plain English
- The expected impact, such as hours saved each week
- An indicative cost to implement, with a time estimate
- The effort it would need from your team
- Whether it is a quick win, a medium-term change or a strategic one
What happens after the Survey is entirely your decision.
The fee covers the day, the report, the follow-up call and the support period, and you owe nothing else. Some clients implement the report themselves, which is exactly what it is designed to allow. Others ask us to deliver particular recommendations, each quoted separately and transparently.
Fees
A fixed quote, agreed before booking.
The fee reflects the size and complexity of the organisation. Whatever the size, you are quoted a fixed figure before booking and it does not change.
Half is payable on booking and half on delivery of the report. Travel is included across Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Bristol, Gloucestershire and Hampshire. Elsewhere, travel is charged at cost.
Why it is set up this way
A survey should be affordable enough not to need a board meeting, and substantial enough to be worth doing properly. Free audits from IT firms and agencies usually exist to sell you something else, and large strategy projects tend to produce a thick document that sits in a drawer. The Survey sits deliberately between the two.
Who it suits
The right fit.
Most clients are firms of one to a hundred people: professional services such as law, accountancy, architecture and consultancy, as well as hospitality groups, manufacturers, tourism businesses, family firms thinking about succession, and sole traders who want to take on more work without working longer hours.
It is probably not the right fit if
- You have already deployed AI extensively and know what you want built. A specialist developer will serve you better than a generalist.
- You are a very large organisation with more complexity than one day can cover. Training and phased audit work may suit you better.
Questions
Frequently asked.
Do you sign an NDA?
Yes. We will send ours, or sign yours.
What about confidential data?
None is needed at the Survey stage, because we ask about processes rather than records. If the work moves on to implementation, data-handling agreements are put in place before anything sensitive is touched.
Will you work with our existing IT provider?
Yes, and we prefer to. They know your systems, so we work with them rather than around them.
Can the Survey be done remotely?
Yes, if you would rather. Being on site usually produces a better report.
What if something in the report turns out to be wrong?
It can happen, since there is a limit to what a single day can reveal. The thirty-day support period exists to catch it, and if the report was materially wrong it will be revised and reissued.
How quickly can we book?
Usually within the week.
How do we start?
Email [email protected] with a couple of sentences about your business. A fifteen-minute call first is usually the quickest way to work out whether the Survey is right for you.
