About
An independent practice, built for smaller firms.
Westcountry AI helps small and mid-sized businesses across the South West and beyond to adopt AI, through training, structured assessment and full implementation.
Why we exist
A gap that needed closing.
Westcountry AI was founded on a simple observation. Large companies have budgets, vendor relationships and dedicated adoption teams, while everyone else is left choosing between a training course that changes nothing, a licence nobody uses, and a consultancy quoting five figures before any work has started.
Smaller firms have the most to gain from AI and the least support in getting there. This practice exists to close that gap, and it draws on several years of strategy consultancy across the South West, advising organisations of every size.
We are paid for the advice, never for the tools.
No licences resold, no referral fees, and no arrangements with Microsoft, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic or anyone else. Recommendations are made on their merits, and sometimes the right answer is to do nothing.
How we work
Three habits that shape every engagement.
In plain English
If a word your IT provider would not use makes it into a report, we have failed. Understanding something properly means being able to explain it simply.
Tested before it is recommended
Nothing is recommended that we have not used ourselves. Every suggestion comes from a tool that has been used, broken, fixed and used again.
At your team's pace
The best rollouts start with the people doing the work rather than the boardroom, and deal with their concerns directly. Making the tools work is half the job; making sure people want to use them is the other half.
What we will not do
Some lines we do not cross.
Resell licences
We take no referral fees or commission from any technology provider. We recommend whatever fits, and are paid for the advice.
Work on a cost-plus basis
Every piece of work has a fixed quote agreed before it starts, with separate, itemised pricing for anything that follows.
Take on work we cannot do well
If you need a data scientist, a managed service provider or an ERP specialist, we will say so, and point you towards someone better placed where we can.
Next step
The easiest way to start is a short conversation.
Tell us a little about your business and what is prompting you to look at AI, and we will suggest where to begin.
